Our Part In The Project

All groups will have a volunteer guide to lead outdoor activities, as well as a first aid qualified individual and a knowledgeable trails guide.

Transportation from the point of the event, food and lodging (tent, lodge, cabin) may be provided by Alongside and our contributors.

A packing list and a schedule will be during your preparation after you are selected for your event. Two team zoom calls are required prior to your start. You will meet your guides and your peers here.

Our project is not therapy and we do not provide any counseling or treatment for PTSD or any other trauma related mental illness. Please use resources listed below if you are feeling depressed , suicidal or any other feelings of uncontrollable anxiety.

VTTV Meetings are held weekly for free by zoom and you can be on or off camera to participate in them. https://www.facebook.com/p/Veterans-Talking-to-Veterans-61574916388325

  • The Alongside project is asking you for a digital cleanse—check-ins will be completed for our participants to the family or friends by our team during the project. A no phone goal is set for during daylight hours. Photos and progress reports will be shared with the families so they can see your progress and location.

  • Communication with your assigned guide/coach is a must. From before your arrival to finalization of the project, you are being thoughtfully placed in a group of people to ensure safety and education are paramount. We want to give you a modality you can use for the rest of your life when you feel stress or anxiety.

  • You are the best judge of your feelings, both physical and emotional. We ask that you push yourself out of the daily comfort zone you are accustomed to and participate fully in the project. You will be in constant communication with guides and we ask that you be truthful when asked how you’re feeling. This mostly applies to overnight events.

    1. Application to attend

    2. A non liability waiver must be signed to attend.

    3. A social media release form is required, however, this is your choice and will not prevent you from attending if you opt out.

We use social media to let others know about our project, our goals and most importantly that we are here option for those that need us.

Tomorrow Will Be Better 〰️

From the founder,

When Alongside came to fruition in April 2024 we were established for the female combat veteran. Since that short time, I myself came to the realization that there was an extremely important group of women that could not be omitted. The spouses of these Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen. The First Responder Women and the wives of First Responders.

You are our priority.

Come be a part of better, alongside of us. Thrive.
